The 2,507 m high Piz da Peres is a magnificent lookout mountain in the Olanger Dolomites. Starting from the Furkel Pass, you first follow a forest road (No. 3), which turns into a narrow trail (12B) in the forest and initially involves quite a steep climb. Between one and the other trail in the forest, you also cross a short section of the Pre da Peres ski slope. Coming out of the forest, the initial slope eases slightly and you can enjoy the open view of the ski mountain opposite and first views into the Ladin mountain world.
Further on, follow trail marker 12 over rocks, where you have to hold on to some ledges, and over some steps before you see the summit cross. At the summit, you are rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags, Zillertal Alps, and Tauern mountains.
The descent takes a different route, turning this tour into a beautiful circular hike (No. 3). Immediately after the first descent over a short meadow section, you reach a scree field. Beyond the scree, the path continues up and down along a forest trail back to the starting point. There is a place to rest and eat at the Furkel Pass.
