Start at the Tourist information office in Welsberg and run through the village center until just before the gas station. Cross the bridge over the Pidigbach river and then turn right along the Pidigbach river in the valley heading east towards the Gsiesertal Valley until the industrial zone "Am Anger". Leave the path here and cross the main road to ascend steeply into the village center of Taisten. Pass by the wayside shrine and the parish church until you reach the hill above the Alpen Tesitin hotel, then pass by the Unterrainer farms along the Unterrainer road, descending to the Alte Goste hotel. Here, cross the Pustertal Valley state road and run along the dam wall to the Pustertal Valley bike path. From there, follow the lake back to Welsberg. The route is mostly sunny but also offers shaded sections and is particularly well-suited for experienced runners, as it features many climbs and a wide variety of difficulty levels.

Coming from Innsbruck/Brennero (A): Drive on the Highway of Brennero (A22) until the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 58kms until you arrive in Monguelfo.
Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Monguelfo.
